RACE INSTRUCTIONS

The race follows a traditional course, as outlined on the chart. It is at the discretion of the organisers to amend it, should the need arise.

START LINE & START CONDITIONS

  • Between KBC Wharf and yellow outer mark south of the Wharf
  • There will be no starting signals
  • First boat away 1130hrs
  • Start at the time allocated to your boat when you register to race

COURSE

  • Starting in a westerly direction
  • Passing round Rabbit & Goat Islands – to port
  • Through Blanch Channel
  • Round Motuketekete Island – to port
  • To finish

FINISH LINE

Between boat Hinewai (Martin Farrand), or alternatively boat Tuna (Jill Heterington) and the 5-knot buoy in the middle of Bon Accord harbour.

PRIZE GIVING

6pm, Sunday at the KBC Clubrooms.

RACE CONDITIONS

  • The organizers accept no responsibility for any damage or loss
  • The race will be sailed under COL REGS
  • No extras, but head sails can be poled out

RACE ENTRY

  • Free of charge. However, donations won’t be declined.
  • Online via www.mahurangicruisingclub.org
  • At the Wharf of the KBC from 10.00 to 11.00 am on the 22. Oct.

The organisers recommend online entries.

Once the handicapping is completed the participants will receive a race map containing their start time

A HISTORY

The Mahurangi Cruising Club was founded by Peter Bayley and Peter Oxborough between 1988 and 1990.

Ian Free advocated the benefits of a Club Yearbook. He became its editor, while Stephen Horsley came to be the designer.

The first edition was published in 1999.

Celebrate the opening of the 2017/18 season at the Kawau Boating Club

3pm Sunday 22nd October

A cup replica will be there courtesy of the RNZYS.
Some who were there will tell it like it was…….
Hopefully ETNZ will be there

Ian Cook, RNZYS Vice Commodore, will talk about the impact of
the cup defence on the Auckland yachting scene

Then mix and mingle – take a ‘selfie’ with the cup – talk sailing

Robyn and Davo will be offering the traditional KBC hospitality
